I think you are right. He needs to man up and pay for his lies. Wouldnt be much more for him to make it right rather than pay shipping again anyway. Plus the headache of sending it all back and risk of him not paying. I have been screwed on deals a couple of times and am currently working to fix one so I feel your pain.
