Who wants to order parts for their cars online all of the time? Sometimes parts actually break on the track.

You are comparing hooked up M18s to new 18Rs running at your track. It takes time to dial in a car. Arriving and driving just doesn't cut it.

Speaking of parts durability, I broke a hub on my M18 without even driving it. It dropped from a table and when I went to check the car over before I ran it, the hub was broken. There is no way that you can compare a M18 to the 18R and claim that it is more durable because this is just not true.

I have run my 18R on this carpet track with the layout in the video and was running 11.3 second laps. My car was not setup when I was running as I still needed to make adjustments but haven't returned since. I also ran on rubber tires. When I have time, I will return and dial in foams as well as run my M18 to see how closely the two cars compare. I doubt that the laptimes will differ much but I can't wait to see which car will be faster on the rug with two properly setup cars.
