i'm not a rubber guy (nor am i ray murray ), but given that vta is a heads up start EVERY round, i would think that being ready at the tone would more than just a 'minor detail'. in fact, i lost my first ever vta race when i spun out in the first turn, (after tq'ing by a good margin).

again, this is on the presumption that the vta tires do, indeed, perform better after a few laps. for my particular setup/car that weekend, that was the case.

man, that was a ton of fun.
