The point is the way the switch is wired it breaks the circuit going to the regulator. In other words no power goes to the regulator. I let mine sit all winter after running a 3 Qualifiers and a 20 min main. Took it out the buggy, charged it and it only took 1100 mah's so even if your theory is correct it's such a small discharge rate it would take 2 years or so to discharge enough to cause damage....
Its not like a speedo where the whole thing is always powered just waiting for a signal to tell it to turn on.
this is what i thought, basic electronics. but a lot of people told me different so i just listen, well my dad does. i see no benefit to runnin lipo. i can run all day on my nimh with out a recharge
