Racing weekend update, Roar region 2 Regionals,
Well, if there was a worst luck of the weekend award I got it!
I started out the weekend not having the right tires. I put my tire
order in to late to get them for the race. So I went with what I had,
Take off Foams. Sat, Touning stock. I missed the first round as I had
some drivetrain issues. I was able to get them fixed and qualified some
where in the B main, 5 or 6th I think, sorry i wasnt really paying
attention. Car handeling problems due to the tires was where my
attention was. I ended up finishing about the same 5th or 6th in the B.
I learned after the race on sat. about a trick for the tires to keep
them from traction rolling. So I went home that night and Glued all the
outside edges of my tires. I went back on sunday hopeing to do much
better and my luck just got worse. Right before the first round I went
to turn on my car an my speedo was smoked! so I missed the first round.
I got a new speedo in and went out for the second round. The car started
off GREAT! I was on a 34 lap pace wich would have Qualified me for the
A. Luck strikes again. Half way through the run my tires go away and the
car is very loose! ended up finishing with a 30 lap run. 3rd round was
just as bad. tires were just gone! I ran another 30 lap run. I was only
quaified 2nd in the C main. I needed to do something. I went to my tire
box and put on a set of tires that everone said shouldnt have worked.
They were 40 shore multi-ring 26mm fronts and and 40 shore multi-ring
30mm rear. went out to practice before the main and WOW the car was
awesome! I went out for the C-Main hopeing to put down a A main run! the
start ended up horible! I got a hole shot and the leader decided to turn
left instead of right at the first turn. i got booted from the track and
was about 7 seconds behind! I was pissed. Latif yelled accross the track
"CALM DOWN" so I just concentrated and passed the leader before the
first lap was over I ran a 14.83 after that it was ON!!! 9.8, 8.97,
8.86, 8.99, 8.96, 8.97, 8.87 I was on a TQ TIME! 36 in 5:00.00 every one
was STUNNED! then tragity struck, I blew up the motor on the streight! I
am not sure what else could have gone wrong this weekend but it happend.
I appoligise to all that have supported me this week. I guess that luck
just wasnt with me.
I want to thank Victor from Warpspeed racing for the phone call on sat
night after the learned about my drive train problems. Thanks it showed
me what kind of person you are. I also want to thank Mike from Team 1 RC
your stock motor WAS AWESOME!!! Guess we'll still have to work on the
mods some more.
I also want to thank Jeff Cuffs and Angelo D'Ellasandro from Team
Trinity for all there help. Thanks also to Mike Mulherin and Latif for
your support as well.
I will be takeing a few weeks of as this race had drained me
finianticaly and have to get ready for christmas. I will return to the
racing scene the second or third week in Jan to prepair for the
Snowbirds classic in feb.
