Lynx 3d issue
So I've been out of RCs for several years but I just picked up a Slash to start some low buck racing. I have my old Lynx 3d that I wanted to install and run rather than the Traxxas radio, but when I hooked it up I couldn't get any throttle response.
I don't think there is an issue with the receiver as I was able to hook up the ESC on either channel 1 or 2 and the steering server would respond either way (through the wheel when the ESC was on chan2, or through the trigger when the ESC was on chan1).
It looks like in the 6 years its been sitting, the transmitter battery has lost a cell or 2 as when I switch it on the low voltage alarm is on and the voltage on the LCD drops pretty quickly to around 8v.
While all that is happening, the servo will respond fine to inputs. Is the radio smart enough to kill the throttle response because of a low voltage on the transmitter, or does it sound like some other issue. I don't want to go by new batteries for the Tx unless I'm pretty sure that is the problem. Trying to keep things cheaper this time around and I'd rather just use the Traxxas radio than spend a bunch of money chasing an issue down on this older radio. If I can fix something simple to use my old go-to that would be awesome.
Any help you can offer would be greatly appreciated.
