Have tried to follow the settings list on 453 and I'm getting there I think, but dang! Very frustrating. I actually have one of the Econo Nova's (Novarossi N21BF Limited Edition .21 )on the way, because I'm not sure I can trust this thing. Sounds real heathy when its running, but so far, cant keep it this way. Wish one of you Go Guru's lived in the KC area!!
I would switch to the os-p3 or 4 plug. with the p3 it is easier to tune when new. this same thing happened to me this morning when I was breaking in my 7-port. what I did was to remove air cleaner set my needles at hsn 1/2 in from flush and lsn 1-1/2 from flush then set idle at 1mm. then I turned on transmitter to make sure it was opening and closing correctly and everything was set right. then rechecked idle gap.put air filter back on went out after heating engine up too 190 fired it up went from idle to 1/4 throttle for entire tank. let cool for about 5 minutes fired it back up got it up to operating temp then when it sounded like it was idling to high lowered in 1/16th increments each time making a pass with it to flush out load up. finally got it just right. I own 3 go -tec's and by reading this forum and the info on massive mods web site I have no problems with the carbs. I am also using massive mods run in oil. but have read that you can use klotz oil from your local moto store. I do believe they used like 2 drops per tank. These engines are so tight that they need the hot plug to get every thing burnt. And I swear by the run in oil. the 7 port i am breaking in is super tight that it makes a wisp-wisp sound every time you give it gas. I have used the oil in every tank I ran through this engine(7tanks) and the noise is getting fainter.
