With a motor the diameter of the T8, 13T will be the smallest pinion you can run - maybe a 12T if you do some grinding on the can. A 36mm motor will give a few more pinion options. I'm not sure how the front/rear diffs are geared on the H9/9E but truggy diff gearing (10/43 or 10/44) would definitely be a good thing.
Without any grinding with T8, the smallest pinion you can use is 16t(may be 15t). I just install T8 on my hyper9...... with 16t, you get the fdr 9.8
