Jeff - I have Hyper 9 center diff here, which is also what the 9E is using. It is short, rather than small. The suns and spiders look like normal diffs in an 1/8th scale, but it uses very small o-rings, and saves space behind the gears where the outdrives come out. And of course the spur is only 40T.
The slipperential won't work because of the small spur diameter, which can't be made larger than 40T. The slipperential needs a spur with I think at least a 46T diameter to have room for the pads and the adjuster nut using Mike's current design.
A motor shaft slipper for the pinion on the other hand......hmmmmm.
