the gear on 5645 is not really good, this is same gear in 645, it's not a metal gear, it's just a brass material, i have 3 of those which is all strip, that why it's sitting in my tool box. If you used this in the steering and when you hit something hard they can easily strip the gear, thats why i dont like this servo, and i heard that they have an upgrade gear, a titanium gear, but i dont know how much is it, so that's why im using the 5995tg version instead...
i beleive the gear is arround $12- $16.00 a set.
When did brass become classified as "non-metal"?
The gears are a combination of steel and brass and do wear over time. If you are concerned about that then you should look at using our titanium geared servo (7955tg) as there won't be any wear issues with those.
