To remove some of the slop currently, take some packaging plastic, remove the ball cup and then place the plastic over the ball joint. Now pop the cup back on, and it'll cut a perfect circle out of the plastic. If the joints are particularly sloppy, you may want to try that a few times.

Thanks for the advice Ed. I have tried to get some Tamiya replacements but cannot get any for the wekend
I have some on order but need some for Friday night as the centre steering ones keep popping off!
