i have run the JP and i dont think that the Eagle R09 has more topend than the Max,alot has to do with the right gearing and tunning i think they are about the same,but with todays economy the Max is the best all around engine for the money,all these other engines are close to $700,about the Murnan engines yes they are fst but really hard on the fuel milage so what good is an engine that is fast but goes 4 minutes,not bashing on Murnans product but as a racer you have to take all these things into consideration,just my opinion.
