Is it difficult to rotate by hand? If it is, the rotor may have delaminated from the higher speeds caused by the 3 cell battery... The only moving parts are the bearings and rotor and the only parts likely to fail. Are all of you connections good? If the sensor wire comes loose, the motor will act choppy and crazy. Otherwise, it might be the controller...
