I don't see the ugly opinion due to the fact the 1/10 4wd are just as ugly.
I see the legit comments are the cost difference, having tires that swap with 2wd buggy, and having the batteries (even though you can use the same batteries in 1/8, you just need two of them for a 4S setup).
But, as far as technology and handling you cannot compare an 1/8 buggy to a 1/10 buggy and say the 1/8 buggy doesn't handle as well. It's far superior in handling at majority of tracks. In a small indoor track the 1/10 would be advantageous though. It depends on the particular tracks you race at.
The one thing I'm suprised wasn't said right away is that 1/8 buggy can tear up tracks more making it more difficult for 1/10 buggies.
