I get there early and test the car out and run a bunch of laps on tires I gooped before I left home. then re goop the rears fully and the fronts about half then about 8 min before my race (the race before) I will rub the excess off and keeping the tires in the air put the body on and marshal the next race. Then when It's my turn I put the car down in a unused corner and pull a couple of donuts to get rid of the rest of the excess goop.

Then run the piss out of the car for 8 min then re goop as soon as it comes in.

Now there is one person that uses brake cleaner on their tires after his run then regoops Is this advisable

First, what additive are you using on the tires? If your track allows Paragon, don't use anything else.

What I do is, I apply to the entire rear tires and the inner half of the fronts maybe two or three heats before mine. I wipe the Paragon off during the heat before mine. When I set the car down, U rub the tires on the track mvoing the car side to side and front to back, sort of a figure-eight laying on its side motion. I do this til I feel the tires aren't "slidey" and are getting "grabby". Then I run two laps to warm up, and line up on the grid.

After the run, I marshal the next heat. WHen I come back to the pits, I clean my tires off with lighter fluid (apply, then wipe off right away) then let things sit til a few heats before mine, and I repeat the process.

I wouldn't recommend brake cleaner to clean foam tires... I think it's too harsh a chemical. Motor spray will work if you can't get lighter fluid, but the lighter fluid is the best in my opinion.

Don't apply Paragon (or any wintergreen based additive) at home... you don't want it sitting on the tires that long. It will make them too soft. Tires that are too soft will behave a lot like you are describing... good for part of the run, then they give up. Also, you REALLY don't want to run your tires big. 52mm is WAY too big.

One other thing... after the last run of the day, clean them off with lighter fluid, wipe em down, and store them in a ziploc bag til the next race day. They'll thank you.
