540 start with about 4.4 (72/16) and adjust for track size. The Sports tuned generally likes a tooth less than the silver can but 72/16 isn't overdoing it so you could even start there.

For a CO27 Monster stock 72/14 and go to 72/15 is it isn't hot after five-minutes. Gearing depends on the type of stock motor (more than track size) though. If your cells are up to it, this will go seriously quick down a long (60m) straight.

These are for rubber tires.

17.5 no idea. I'd guess a massive pinion though...
