Here are the Rules for the 2009 Cactus Classic.
Batteries for all classes
Lipo:
2s Li-Poly batteries may be charged to a maximum of 8.40v (+0.04v. variance)
Hard Case LiPo 7.4V or 6 Cell NiMh In all classes.
Li-Poly battery packs must have a hard, protective case that surrounds the cells. A factory encased hard shell pack is required. The "hard case" shall be made of ABS or si milar type material. The case shall consist of two (2) halves with each half being constructed from a single mold that is not easily pliable and retains it shape without any exterior or interior support.
NiCd and NiHh Batteries:
Maximum 6 (six) cell sub-C size rechargeable each rated at 1.2 volts or less may be used.
Motor Rules:
Stock Classes will be allowed to race either a 13.5 Brushless motor or a 27T Brushed.
10.5 Classes will be allowed to race either a 10.5 Brushless motor or a 19T Brushed motor.
*Motors in the controlled and motor specific classes (10.5, 13.5 "Stock") can not be 'modified' externally or internally from factory. Bearing changes, rotor replacement, etc is legal. Timing adjustments are legal (as limited by manufacture design). By no modification, we mean physical and deliberate changes to the motor from what it was designed for (no timing modifications, can modifications, wire altercations, solder tampering, etc.).
