yes you are right before you put the split bevel cone add 2 - 7*10*1 washers then put cone back on flywheel and tighten if still not tight add 1 more washer or as many as you need i used my stock clutch shoes and had to ream the middle a little because the flywheel nut had a big ridge on it so when they engadged they would slip down the ridge and press against the clutchbell causing the clutchbell to be stuck (may be different for you)well after you get your clutchbell on i added 1- 5*8*.5 teflon washer then a 5*8*2.8 brass washer and put the screw in (amount of 5*8*.5 washers may vary for you)hoped i helped out
