A lot of Soldering is using the right equipment. Using a POS iron from walmart will cause you to do shotty work. I use a Weller Iron & station, and soldering is actually fun for me

In any case I would never solder on the ESC b/c that would void the warranty. You do know those 6.5mm bullets disconnect from the ESC right?
i have different soldering irons. i think one is around 60 watt and the other one is a soldering gun with 150 watt...
i would never start messing with the esc, not if its so new. i know those 6.5mm connectors. the wires from the esc to the motor, are bullet connectors. the ones going to the battery are not. they are soldered directly to the esc...
