I find the one-piece top deck feels better (carpet/rubber/13.5). The car is less twitchy, and seems more predictable overall. I've gone back and forth between them a lot, and keep ending back with the new version.
The car has always seemed a little prone to over-rotating. I went back to the Mazda6 (instead of the Speed6 and R9-R) and things feel a lot better. It's not as aggressive, but so much more predictable, and pleasant to drive.
i recently had really bad wander on my car... then i switched from the tamiya white.. to the tamiya black with the aluminum middle piece and the wandering issues went away.
