Yes and no.
If you use a nicad or nimh cell it will work much better that an alkaline cell. Also the 2 piece aluminum housing is a conductor and when the threads get dirty (oxidized) it acts as a resistor, hurting output. So check and clean the threads often. Also, many of the igniters come with a plated brass tube that wears out rather quickly. It's best to find an igniter that has a stainless steel or plated steel tube.
