I think we will see more CNC machined alloy parts in the future due to the fact that they are simply cheaper in the volumes that we are talking here.

Manufacturing an injection molding tool for plastic components eats up 50-60,000$/€ easily.

Considering that they would sell probably less than 5000 kits of a certain car, it is way cheaper to have CNC parts done in Asia than building that injection molding tool. Further, with CNC parts, it's a piece of cake to make a running change to a car without dumping a tool and building a new one.

Look at the Serpent 966 or the Velox V10, loads of aluminum....
