But running radio gear on the wrong band Detunes it, you'll
find that when you do a rangecheck your range is severely
reduced - you might not even reach the far edge of your track.
Some of the ancient KO radio TXes emit very high RF strengths,
so this might improve range a bit. But I think the EX7 (1989?)
was one of the first narrow-band KOs, which don't have as
high RFs as the older 1982 EX1.
