You're not trying to put them in dry are you? I would think that might tear them. You want them to fit nice and tight so a little lube would probably be necessary to put them in. Turn the needle very slow too and maybe "help" the o-ring in a little with your extra hand by pushing them into the hole? Don't really know what to use to lube them but probably a little spit couldn't hurt them
