I was racing a 99 ZX9 in 03 at Willow "the fastest road in the west" and winning on occation against the big mean GSXR 1000s. Spotting 25 horse and 40lbs of bike not to mention my own 200lbs.

Yep all about the skill really until you get to running w/ folks that are all about the same skill, then those extra ponies matter. I've smoke many a 1ks on the tighter tracks were braking and corner speed mattered like Barber & Jennings....at the same time I"ve been smoked by great rider on dailed 750.
