In my case, the one-way itself ran quite free - there was no obvious binding or force required.

However, the instructions supplied recommended the installation of shims that caused the whole arrangement to bind when the front end was fully assembled. There appeared to be no room for the suspension to travel freely as well. I removed the shims and it all worked fine after that.
