Pretty sure he's referring to the metal parts that stick out from the connector. If you install a loop or something MUCH easier to grab onto, then it'll be much better for a relatively quick battery change. If you've ever tried to swap batteries with Deans connectors quickly... you'd understand how much easier it is when there's more to grab onto.
