Here is some info some might like to know about our Lipos. As I have said before these are made exclusively for us and we feel there the best Lipos made to date. The R&D of our supplier is extremely strong and improvements are being made regularly. One of they key features of our packs besides low IR and good average voltage is cycle life. The 3D helicopter fliers have noticed that our Lipos have much better cycle life than any other packs they have flown.
Here is a cycle life test on our new 40C+ cells that shows how a cell can be tested to see how it holds up to cycling. This tests consist of 100 straight cycles. This is harsher than doing 100 cycles with rest but it's still showing how a cell will drop over each cycle.
Here is how the test is setup:
Step 1. Charge the cell at 1C at CC mode.
Step 2. Charge the cell at CV mode
Step 3. Rest for 5 minutes
Step 4. Discharge the cell at 50 amps
Step 5. Rest for 8 minutes 20 seconds
Repeat the cycle for 100 times.
The first mAh reading is charge and the second is discharge.
Our supplier tells me that the acceptable standard is that a cell/pack must stay at 70% of it's capacity over 100 cycles. Were very pleased to see that our cells are at 91% which is a very high standard. Test from other brands of so called high cycle life cells have been at 75% .
