Default can 14.4v e-maxx handle the mamaba monster

I have a 14.4v e-maxx I am thinking about dropping my $$ into a mamba monster. The question i have is will the mamba monster be to powerful for the drive train of the e-maxx or will it handle the power well. The thing i don't wont is to be waisting my cash on broken drivelines and stripped out gears. I am torn on weather to go brushless on the e-maxx with my $$ of keep upgraging my vxl slash with big bore shocks and things like that.
