You honestly don't have to balance the batteries every charge, that's a very big myth. There are many articles in various RC magazines that support that statement. Some people only balance them once every 10-15 charges. I've charged mine multiple times without a balancer and when I put a balancer on it it only took a minute or so. I would suggest balancing every time if you are racing competitively.
