Perhaps RLich8 is a little too harsh. Some bad experiences with HPI in the past maybe?

Anyway, there is some truth to what RLich8 has mentioned. The 2 speed gearbox looks a lot like the Serpent 2 speed gearbox. The old one that is. Not the new LC ones that comes with the 705, 835 and 950.

BTW, most pro cars in the market are already using these tiny 700 / 800 mAH batteries as what you call them. Even 1/8th scale cars are already using these. Ordinary alkaline batteries are only used on RTR cars as receiver packs if you must know. Those tiny batteries are what you call AAA batteries. They give the most weight savings for the power they contain. When used correctly, they can last up to 8 tanks or approximately 45 minutes to 1 hour of use.
