You also want taller and narrower tires as well.(maybe 1/8 scale buggy tires/wheels) The independent suspension limits your ground clearance so you need every mm of ground clearance you can find...You also want to keep the weight of the truck down low.....

The extended arms give you 10mm (3/8") total that is 5mm (5/16") per side...
not much. With the independent suspension when the side that goes high to clear something it compresses but so does the opposite side and you lose ground clearance.....You need to run the stiffest springs you can find....

You can make it an ok crawler but if you really want to crawl you should think about a solid axle crawler....
