Last year in mod I ran the Orion 3600 then the Trinity 3800's and barely had enough mah to finish a 5 min run at Fantacy World. I had to remove the humps from bottom and put a set of my 1.2oz inserts to secure them.

Manutech makes a 2mm top deck shim kit now, I bought one but haven't installed yet...but looks like it will work fine. It will prob. be a snug fit to run with a base plate weight under battery. Also keep in mind, you are running the 3mm chassis that sits .5mm lower then the 2.5mm (as seen by the cuttouts in chassis for bulkheads).

With the 2.5 mm shim you are considering, you should be able to run the Core5000 with no baseplate, or a 4000 and under with baseplate.

I rate 4000's as follows...
1) SMC 4000
2) Trinity 3800
3) Orion 3800

Keep in mind, there are new gen LiPo's just now coming out at 40C...so I'd wait for the new SMC if wanting to run a baseplate LiPo combo.

Generally speaking a 5000 LiPo is 24mm thick and a 3600 is 21mm thick (with no humps or sanded off humps)
