the problem with opening up the timing is it make the motor a 1 run. we ran a series with 19t motors back in 2004 it was any 19t 19gage single and open mod cans p94 brushes stock rings to get 40+ degrees of timing.smoked then in one run. rezap and retrue and your back at it. that was a lot of work. the 24 degrees keeps it sane... as for brushless it's about 20 degrees in the can but the speedo can do up to 40 or something like that. our track does allow bearings with a 27t stock motor though to keep the maintance down as most gus have a mod or 19t that they can use for that cheap. but we don't allow that in vta as that's cheating and against the spirit of vta.
