Default THE CORRECT WAY TO MOUNT A BODY

Is there a rule on body mounting? I know there is a height requirement or limit that is checked at major events. what I am getting at is because of those requirements there must be a certain way to cut the body and mount it so it is legal every time. As with everything the more you do it the easier it gets but if you are not doing it properly you will never get it right. Ex: Do you cut along the lines on the sides and then raise the body to a certain height or do you set the body mounts at a certain height and cut the body accordingly? I have cut and mounted alot of bodies but do not know the proper way. I would like to learn the correct way if anyone can help.
