The cut only has to be the width of the grinder cutting blade, at SMA we had the loop down for a couple of years in the old tennis court with no problems, but it is up to the owner.

Try to get the loop cut in an area that is out of the way as much as possible, otherwise you will be need to make a frame to hold the loop.
