I've used the Orion 2400 it in 5 minute qualifying and ran similar lap times to my Orion 3600.

The cost of running this class is relatively low. Parts breakage is lower on average where I race. Tires easily last 8 or more race days. For bodies, shoo-goo and dry wall tape will make any very durable.

From what I've read online, most tracks and drivers are extemely helpful in this class. I'd suggest asking around at your track and see if you can borrow what you need to race until funds become available.
