One of the most important things about lipo's is that you never run them down to low. With a smaller lipo it's going to happen, get the biggest lipo's you can afford and they will last the longest. Most people ruin there first lipo the first or second time they us them because they run them to long.
This is very important! The stock Traxxas ESC does NOT have a low voltage cutoff feature. If you do decide to go lipo invest in something like

Also another consideration for batteries are
Neu Energy cells. 4900Mah cells here are $67. Good quality packs. Check the dimensions before purchasing though as, unlike sub-c stick packs, lipos come in all shapes and sizes.
