Both Goodyear and Firestone had red stripe tires back then.
I'm pretty sure Firestone's stripe was red and Goodyear's was blue. Goodyears were called "Blue Streak Specials." I used to buy tire painting pen (really more like crayons!) and make white letter and striped tires!
