I bought this engine used and it has very little pinch left. I have just been using it as a practice engine. What would you reccomend doing to freshen up? Sleeve, piston, rod, and bearings? That would come to around $100 is that the way to go, or is the new generation 5 ports and carbs much better to spend the $ on a new one. Mine had the long lsn and I have no idea as to what generation it is.
i would recommend if you are keeping that for good back up to send it to Rex Welch (22racer)to have it pinched and i would check bearings to make sure all good and replace with con rod and get another boot on there. if cant get one msg russell(rocket42) he may be able to get you one. Rex does an awesome job and im going to keep sending motors to him . The new gen motors are just as good as the older ones to me, but im sure others see differences. just my opinion thnx Will G
