Default Brushless Motor Bearing Removal

I've heard racers discuss replacing the standard bearings in brushless motors with high performance bearings. What tricks do y'all have to remove the bearings? I have a mod motor that needs a bearing or bearings replaced, but I'm hesitant to just start banging on the bearings to get them out. Do you need a torch? Or will a heat gun do? Are there different procedures for different motors?
