What pinion gears are those? Are they from the old fixed pinion Centax clutchbell or are you fitting the older Impulse 2 shoe clutch?
Depends on how tight the track is but I guess it's gonna be more than enough low end punch. 12/16 with 50/46 is gonna give you a final drive ratio of 8.90 and 6.14 respectively. To be able to use this gearing to great effect, your track needs to be very TIGHT
I'm using 13/16 with 50/44 (final drive ratios of 8.22 and 5.86 respectively) and I find that I'm out of gas 3/4 way on the short straights at my local tight track.
There will be a point of diminishing returns when you gear your 1st gear too high.
