For cooling, the aluminum plate that goes inside the motor housing and the aluminum gear case cover both help some.
The standard (black .4 pitch) gears are great for getting low gear ratios - 43/35 * 3.055 = 3.75, and they can take crashes.
Also very stable on rubber tires/carpet when using tire prep, e.g., paragon fx.
