New to 1/12th scale question!!!!

I know roll out is calculated tire diameterxpi/gear ratio. That wasn't as complicated as I originally had thought. Is there a way to figure roll out from straight away length? Ultimately a car should be geared to top out at or just before the end of a straight away. Would this be worth figuring or just more number crunching than it's worth?
