I dont know what 17.5 your running but I am currently running 65/33 and planning on going to a 34 pinion with my novak and the motor is coming off the track after each race temping at 115 to 120 plenty of bottom end and very quick down the straight.
I know Murffdogs 17.5 at the nats where running a 72 spur and they were very quick but it depends on the motor from what I am finding out.

im about to order a 72t spur and a 69t spur and slipper pegs. They are tc3 spurs and lucky me...i own a tc3 haha. So if they dont work, ill end up using the 69 for 17.5 in tc3 eventually.
the AE spurs and Kimbrough spurs are the same right? The place im ordering from has the kim 69 but not the kim 72, only the AE 72...
