Someone was asking about LiPo a page or so back...there is a saddle pack being made but it isn't legal for racing as it is lower voltage then the NiMh pack...you may even need a reciever pack with it depending on your reciever and what motor you use.
A LiPo cell is legal in 12th as far as the ROAR Rules are concerned. The Rules say "4 cells maximum", and a LiPo battery would be either one or two cells. Providing you kept within the spirit of this Rule (4.8v maximum), the LiPo was in a hard case, and had been approved by ROAR and on their list, there is nothing to prevent you using a LiPo in 12th, as far as I can see. Interestingly, if I take the ROAR Rules literally, there is nothing to prevent you using a 7.4v LiPo - the Rules don't actually state a maximum voltage!!
A receiver packs is a MUST, and you will need to add weight back into the car until it is the same as an NiMh pack otherwise it won't handle properly. HTH
