When you build the spool you don't use the balls in the pulley. However, you do use the smaller thrust balls which is not displayed in the manual. This was discovered and posted on the TC5 thread by the team drivers.
Also, when you do build the spool put some locktight on the screw as this should also prevent it from getting loose which can happen if you don't.
