M04 is more correctly known as M04M It has the same wheelbase as an M03M. There is also the M04L, with the same wheelbase as the M03L. Oddly though, they never actually just did a straight M04 short wheelbase car.

As for bodies that are "easily" available in N. America. The HPI Miata is pretty easy to find...I think that's it for easy to find RWD bodies. You could always use a FWD shell on your RWD, if your club allows it. I did this with an HPI Civic.
