Jeff Cuffs talked me into converting to the new tray with the SMC 5000 for the IIC. It was excellent. The pack hanging out at the rear offsets the BL motor doing the same thing on the other side of the chassis. Both my carpet and asphalt Phi cars are setup this way now. The SMC 5000 is better than any other lipo I have tested to date.
Completely agree that it looked funny originally; but, I am thoroughly pleased with the performance aspect. Has more power than a 3600-4000 lipo at the end of the race and the chassis is balanced with minimal added weight.
