Who needs more rules? WE DO! or do we?
Mr. X showed up just one day before the last 1/10th Gas Sunday Race of the year. I am sure he did not drive all the way to Senayan just to run his car (1/10th) a mere half a lap before, much to his surprise (and I am sure to the guy who drove the 1/8th as well), it turned into little bits and pieces flying about the air halfway down the straight. At least that's the part I sighted a split second after I heard a choir of people shouting AWAAAAS!. I doubt it that they even shouted in time and would have helped prevent the mishaps. It was a storming fully modified 1/8th coming into the straightway on full throttle. What could possible have more destroying power than that to a helpless 1/10th running just barely faster than idle, on the innermost edge of the straightway – where in so doing Mr. X was hoping that even the most expert RC driver would miss even if they aimed for it. Well this particular 1/8th driver guy did not miss and hit it good. Only he never saw it, much less aimed for it, until after the crash and some moment later when someone told him there was no meteor rock involved in the crash. Still from the drivers' stand, he took a better look at the "thing" that he had hit and could have sworn the thing looked like... umm... some rock. Well it did - at least without a body as it was.
To cut a long story short, nobody was happy. In fact, one of them started to make the other uncomfortable with his uncalled for utterances. The 1/8th driver packed and left, and Mr. X was still in rage. His comments got even nastier without the 1/8th guy in the vicinity anymore. How do I know all this you say? Mr. X sat right behind me, where I wished he had not because it bothered me. Enough to make me wanted to draw the picture for you guys, so that we can all think about it. It could happen to you.
Now, do we or don't we need rules in light of this?
